Spring Greens School Days
Local schools have been invited to bring up to 12 pupils from their schools, years 4-6, to spend a day outside in nature guided through 4 workshops with very experienced team to local practitioners. The workshops enable the children to learn about nature in nature through a mixture of story telling, yoga, drawing and collection beasties and bugs. One of the key experiences of the School's Days is that the children spend the day with their friends and a small mixed group with children from other schools, creating an opportunity to meet each other in a creative atmosphere.
The Schools Days are Back!
Since the School's Days were initiated in 2015, the feedback from the schools has been 100% positive. Nearly 1,000 local children have benefitted from this unique experience.
Since covid, children are becoming more and more susceptible to metal health disorders and this day in the outdoors takes them beyond the restrictions of learning in a classroom and gives them an opportunity to learn about other things and meet children of their own age from other schools.
The School's Days are free of charge and part funded by the Spring Greens Fair along with generous grant from Herefordshire Council to restart the initiative plus the HH Bulmer Benevolent Fund.
In 2024 we are welcoming 14 local schools and over 150 children will be participating on 23rd - 25th April.
Fundamental to the School's Days experience is about sharing and mixing with peers from other schools. In order to facilitate this the children are put into groups of pupils from difference schools with each group identified with colourful ribbons.

Rebecca Finney
'Draw to Nature'
Rebecca is a local artist who records the world around her through photography, drawing and text. She is primarily interest in place, land and landscape.
Tim Key
'Hidden Herefordshire'
Training the next generation of young biological recorders to survey Garden Wildlife to identify and contribute to the Herefordshire Biological Record.
Georgie Treasure-Evans
'Healing Spirit'
Yoga and meditation give children access feelings of calm, centredness and self-control. This confidence in, and connection to themselves enables them to make wise decisions about their health & wellbeing and their behaviour towards themselves and others.
Jackie Yeomans
Seed Guardians
The Three Sisters story and companion planting using pumpkin/squash, climbing beans & corn seeds with each child choosing their seed to harbour inside the clay.
